- The global dis:connect research centre, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, examines the dynamic, co-constitutive relationship of global integration, absent connections and disintegration in current and historical processes of globalisation.

- By investigating global dis:connections, we are inaugurating a new field of research. It emphasises the role of delays and detours, of interruptions and resistances, of the active absence of connections in global contexts and investigates their social significance.

- The cornerstone of global dis:connect is the fellowship programme, in which approximately ten scholars come to Munich each year. They research dis:connectivity on site and in close contact with the directors and their peers. Fellows also have the opportunity to host workshops on the topics of their research.

- Continuous dissemination of our research to the public and academia is a priority at global dis:connect. Our in-house TransferLab, where new forms of disseminating knowledge and scholarship are developed and tested, is where we share.

- global dis:connect publishes innovative interventions on dis:connectivity across a range of media, from the blog, which covers the latest news, research and art at gd:c, to static, a periodical containing the best work from within and beyond global dis:connect, in addition to traditional scholarly formats.

lunch time colloquium summer term 23

The lunchtime colloquium (“ltc”) of the gd:c continues in the summer term. The first session will take place on 25 April. The colloquium takes place on Tuesdays from 11.30 am to 1 pm at the library of the Research Centre.
