Wojciech Szymański takes up fellowship

In September Wojciech Szymański commenced his term as a fellow at global dis:connect. Welcome.

Wojciech Szymański is an art historian and critic, independent curator and assistant professor at the University of Warsaw.

The aim of his project at gobal dis:connect is to explore the relationships between Roma subjects and non-Roma artists in Paris, seeking to restore the visibility and identity of the Roma in relation to contemporary Munich-based art. Another key focus is the Roma and Sinti Holocaust. The broader goal is to examine Roma–non-Roma relations in Munich during the first half of the 20th century, a time when anti-Roma policies and discrimination escalated, ultimately leading to their extermination.
