- The global dis:connect research centre, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, examines the dynamic, co-constitutive relationship of global integration, absent connections and disintegration in current and historical processes of globalisation.

- By investigating global dis:connections, we are inaugurating a new field of research. It emphasises the role of delays and detours, of interruptions and resistances, of the active absence of connections in global contexts and investigates their social significance.

- The cornerstone of global dis:connect is the fellowship programme, in which approximately ten scholars come to Munich each year. They research dis:connectivity on site and in close contact with the directors and their peers. Fellows also have the opportunity to host workshops on the topics of their research.

Işıl Eğrikavuk joins global dis:connect

A warm welcome to our new fellow Işıl Eğrikavuk who joins global dis:connect in early October.

Işıl Eğrikavuk holds an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and a Ph.D. in communication from Istanbul Bilgi University. Işıl has worked at the Berlin University of Arts (UdK) since 2017 and was the co-winner of Turkey’s Full Art Prize in 2012.
